The hardest part of being a Coordinator is the day Mum doesn't tap her button. Pushover Emergency priority pings your phone every 30 seconds until you acknowledge it, on the watch, even with Do Not Disturb on. By the time you're awake, you already know.

How to set it up

Step 1 of 4
Create a Pushover application.
Sign in at pushover.net, create a new Application. Pick a name (e.g. 'Getwello'). Copy the API Token. Note your User Key from the home page.

Step 2 of 4
Pick your relay.
Pushover does not accept raw webhooks; wrap our event in their API call. Zapier, n8n, Make or a tiny Cloudflare Worker all do this in a few lines.

Step 3 of 4
Create the Getwello webhook subscription.
Settings → Developer API → Webhooks. URL is your relay. Tick the events you want. Crucially, route check_in.missed to a relay step that sends priority 2.

Step 4 of 4
Test, tune the sounds.
Click Test on the Getwello side. Watch the watch buzz. Tweak the sound per event type until it feels right.

Why use Pushover rather than the Getwello app's own notifications?

Priority levels. Pushover's Emergency priority bypasses Do Not Disturb and repeats until acknowledged, perfect for missed-day alerts. Our normal app pushes respect quiet hours, which is right for daily check-ins but wrong for genuine concern.

Does Pushover support Apple Watch?

Yes. Pushover's iPhone app forwards to the watch like any standard push. Notifications carry the priority indicators and the sound choice you configured.

How much does Pushover cost?

A one-off £4 per platform (iOS, Android, desktop). After that, unlimited use. No subscription.

Can I have different sounds for different events?

Yes. Each notification can carry its own sound. We suggest a calm chime for check_in.created, an emergency klaxon for check_in.missed, a soft bell for visits.

Does the family share one Pushover account?

Each person buys their own Pushover. You can send the same webhook to multiple Pushover user keys by routing through Zapier, n8n or a small relay.
