'I need help' button for Check-in Members
A prominent emergency tap that immediately alerts every Coordinator and Support Member in the Circle. The thing families actually worry about.
Getwello is built slowly and deliberately, with a lot of input from real families. This page is the honest version: shipped features with the dates they shipped, work in flight right now, and the ideas we're still thinking about.
Active work. These should ship in the next few weeks.
A prominent emergency tap that immediately alerts every Coordinator and Support Member in the Circle. The thing families actually worry about.
If a missed check-in stays missed past your set threshold, escalate calmly from the Coordinator alone to every Support Member in the Circle.
Planned, in roughly this order. Order changes if a family tells us something matters more.
A pinned note at the top of the home screen for everyone in the Circle. "GP appointment Thursday morning, please don't visit before 3pm."
A short thread on each visit so people can coordinate quickly: "I'll bring lunch", "Already done shopping", "Running 10 minutes late".
When the main organiser needs a break, another sibling can step in calmly without ownership confusion. Multi-Coordinator support and per-Circle quiet hours.
Things we like. Whether they ship depends on what families ask for next.
"Hey Siri, check in on Mum." A lock-screen widget so the Check-in Member can tap once without unlocking.
Visits in Getwello show up in the iPhone Calendar app, and vice-versa. Less duplication, no double-booking.
Working with UK organisations who already help families, so Getwello fits alongside the support you already trust.
21 things in the app today, in the order they shipped.
Set medication and appointment reminders for a Check-in Member. They ring on their phone, they tap Done, and the family sees it was done, or gets a quiet nudge if it wasn't.
Open-source npm package (@getwello-app/mcp-server) that wraps the REST API in the Model Context Protocol, so Claude Desktop, Cursor and any MCP-compatible agent can query Getwello directly. Same auth surface as the REST API: Coordinator-minted token, subscription-gated, same-day revocable. Bring your own LLM subscription.
HMAC-signed POSTs to a Coordinator-registered URL when a check-in lands, a check-in is missed, a Family-Room message is posted, or a visit is scheduled. So Home Assistant does not have to poll. Configured from /app/settings/developer with a per-subscription signing secret. Auto-disables after consecutive failures.
Coordinators can mint API keys from /app/settings/developer and connect Getwello to their own AI assistant, Home Assistant routines, or any webhook receiver. v1 covers Circles, members, check-ins, visits, and Family-Room read+post. Bring your own AI: customers pay nothing extra for API access, we don't pay for their tokens. Subscription-gated on every call, Coordinator-only, fully revocable.
The web view of Family Map has been live since March; the mobile apps now report position, fire arrival and departure pushes, and warn the family when the Check-in Member's phone battery drops below the threshold they set. The protocol is the same on both platforms; the apps both honour the same off-by-default and one-tap-off consent flow.
The Android app is now live on Google Play, with the same single-button experience for the Check-in Member and the same rich Coordinator / Support Member dashboard as iPhone. Push notifications, voice notes, photos, hellos and the Family Room all working day one.
The Check-in Member can add a short note alongside their 'I'm well' tap ('feeling tired today', 'all good after the appointment'). The note surfaces in the family's notification and in the check-in history. Optional, never required; the one-tap experience stays exactly the same for anyone who doesn't want to type.
An opt-in upgrade to the Check-in Member's screen that turns the one-button experience into a two-way space without losing the simplicity. Coordinators flip it on per Check-in Member. When on, the Check-in Member's app gains: hellos from the family (text + photo), tomorrow's visit card, a Great / Fine / A bit low mood follow-up after the daily tap, a tap-to-record voice note button (tap to start, tap to send, with a minimum duration so accidental empty notes don't go through), a one-tap 'Ask the family to ring' button, a 'Send the family a photo' button, and an optional audio prompt that speaks the check-in greeting aloud. Coordinators get a family room (chat about Mum, not WhatsApp), a 'send a hello' card on the dashboard, an inbound feed of voice notes / photos / call requests with manage controls, and mood signals woven into the weekly digest and analytics. Off by default; the existing one-button experience stays exactly as it is for less tech-confident Check-in Members.
A short, calm Sunday-evening email to Coordinators and Support Members summarising the week behind (check-ins, who visited and when) and the week ahead (scheduled visits, any gap days). One email per Circle per recipient, no chasing in between. Toggle on or off in Settings.
If you've scheduled a visit, the evening before you get a calm reminder over push (iOS), email, and the in-app inbox. No more 'did I forget about Mum tomorrow?' wakings. Honours your existing notification preferences; off if you've turned all three channels off.
Optional, off by default. See your loved one's last reported place on a map, save named places (Home, the GP, the gym), and get a calm push when they arrive home or when their phone battery is about to die. Off per Circle, off per user, deletes data within seconds when you turn it off. Web view, places management, settings and audit trail all live. Read more on the Family Map page.
Delete your account from inside the app at any time, in line with Apple's account-deletion guideline. Subscriptions cancel automatically.
Per-profile accessibility flags so the Check-in Member can have a calmer, larger-text screen if it suits them.
Quiet eyes on how things are going. Adherence, visitor ranking, when visits happen, and where the next 14 days have gaps.
Native iOS app on the App Store, with the same single-button experience for the Check-in Member.
The dashboard now colour-codes each Check-in Member so a Coordinator can see who has been heard from today in a single glance.
Every tap of 'I'm well' fans out to the whole Circle, with a 10-second cool-off so accidental double-taps do not spam anyone.
If nobody is visiting for several days running, the family gets a heads-up before it becomes a quiet patch.
If a check-in has not come through, a quiet reminder goes to the Check-in Member first, then escalates calmly to the Coordinator.
Day, week and 14-day views of who is visiting and when. Coordinate without WhatsApp pile-ups.
A single 'I'm well' button for the Check-in Member. Tap once a day, the family is reassured.
